DDI International, Inc. has recently launched its new high tech proprietary inspection software program labeled the GLMS (Global Logistics Management System). This unique program is designed to allow easy adaptation by the user to any application throughout our industry, and to continually evolve to match the relentless march of technology.

The GLMS was designed and tested over a two year validation period during which the two primary components of the overall program, GLMS and IDPS (Inspection Data Processing System) were individually validated and field tested with excellent and reliable results.

The GLMS is the only inspection software program available in the industry today that enables and encourages real time and continuous interaction between the client and the inspection teams at all levels of an inspection project through an interactive database and program.

The GLMS is a user friendly, integrity based program designed to offer a variety of project management tools that can be applied to assist at every phase of a project life cycle by collecting and managing inspection data and inspection reports with a system that allows instant verification and validation of the data, regardless of the source of the data.

The GLMS provides enormous cost savings to our clients through expedient delivery of inspection results, real time access to inspection data as it is processed, and through a quality control process that ensures that our clients receive only the highest quality reports.

The GLMS is composed of two components, a Primary component and a secondary component. The Primary component is named the Global Logistics Management System, and is the stationary or static component of the overall system. This component consists of an interactive database which serves as a repository for all inspection data collected from the field technicians, inspection equipment, data logger units, or remote monitoring devices, and also provides a number of unique features that include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides specialized features to expediently design specialized data collection forms, and inspection report organization customized to accommodate a client’s reasonable unique needs and requests for each project regardless of complexity and or nature of the project.
  • Provides a series of secure internal libraries for storage of Rules, Regulations, Standards, and or other publications issued by the governing and or regulatory organizations relevant to the inspection industry, and or for each inspection project such as the ASNT, ASME, ABS, API, BOEMR, DOE, DOI, ISO, and USCG. This information is accessible by authorized users.
  • Near real time email and SMS text alerts for information, situational developments or other issues classified and or designated as critical by the client and or managers.
  • Provides internal blogging feature between authorized users at all levels.
  • Secure data base and servers with controlled and monitored access
  • Total access to all inspection data by client, management, and or project managers at all stages of the project
  • Real time video feed upon request

The secondary component of the GLMS is the “mobile” feature of the overall system and is called the IDPS (Inspection Data Processing System). The IDPS is designed to enable the inspection technicians to collect and process inspection data onsite, and to expediently deliver a complete draft report, and or any part of the report upon request during the execution of the project and or prior to departure from the work site. The draft report is then submitted to DDI management for quality control. The final reports are then delivered within 48hrs. subject to internet access.

The IDPS is designed as a high tech tool to enable qualified technicians to collect inspection data for any type of inspection and or testing project. The structure of the IDPS enables DDI technicians to collect all required information during an inspection project by encompassing all inspection activities into our inspection protocol, and subsequently developing and providing the necessary forms to collect that data.

The IDPS is synchronized with the GLMS to enable technicians to collect and process inspection data in situations where access to the internet is intermittent, unreliable or inaccessible. Data that is collected under these circumstances is stored within the component until a stable connection to the net is available. At that time the technician can upload the data into the GLMS database.

The IDPS is designed as a high tech tool to enable qualified technicians to collect inspection data for any type of inspection and or testing project. The structure of the IDPS enables DDI technicians to collect all required information during an inspection project by encompassing all inspection activities into a single protocol, and by providing the necessary forms, with drop down menus to collect that data.

For Offshore inspections of pipelines and structures the IDPS provides all necessary data collection forms necessary to collect required information pursuant to the surveys listed in the API-RP-2A section 14, and ISO (International Standards Organization) standards 19901-19905.

Depending on the scope and nature of NDT, Rope Access, Drilling Rig, MODU, and UWILD inspections, specialized data collection forms can be expediently designed within the IDPS customized to fit the client’s needs for each project. Specialized data collection forms can be customized for the inspection of critical components such as BOP’s, processing and storage vessels, or components in environmentally sensitive situations.
